YSS provides community-based support services for adults, children and families who are vulnerable, have complex needs and who face difficult life chances.
The Trust has awarded funding of £14,925 to pilot a new initiative called the Chrysalis Project, which will test utilising a specially trained bank of volunteer mentors alongside paid support workers to improve outcomes for women at risk of entering the criminal justice system. The project will provide intensive wrap-around support during the day and evenings, enabling beneficiaries to improve their emotional and financial resilience.
The Trust has also awarded additional funding of up to £15,000 to enable YSS to run a small grants programme to enable local women to access hardship funds alongside support from their outreach team.
