New trustee appointments
Rachael Bailey, Anni Broadhead and Catherine Hine have been appointed as new trustees of the Smallwood Trust. They will join up with our existing trustees, D’Arcy Myers (Chair), Maureen Margrie, Maria Toman and Andrew Tannatt Nash.
The Smallwood Trust’s mission is to enable women to be financially resilient and we believe that these new appointments will enable us to strengthen our work to make a lasting and positive difference to women.
Rachael worked with Women Like Us for more than 10 years, latterly as part of the senior leadership team as Development Director. Women Like Us is an award-winning social enterprise that supports women and carers to find work that can fit around their family lives, whilst increasing their household income. Rachael has experience of building innovative and collaborative partnerships and has significant knowledge of governance gained from the education sector.
Anni has nearly 20 years of substantial senior leadership experience in the third sector. Anni is currently Chief Executive of the Support Network (the benevolent fund of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers) where she has led a significant change programme to increase its reach and impact. Anni also has wide-ranging governance experience having been the Chair of ACO and vice-chair of an Arts Centre.
Catherine has a long track record of addressing gender inequality through her work and volunteering, both in the UK and internationally. Catherine’s most recent experience is managing Oxford City Council’s portfolio of work to address deprivation and inequality across the city. Previously whilst at Oxfam, Catherine led on strategy development across 12 countries, helping teams to focus on delivering additional resources and impact for beneficiaries.
D’Arcy Myers, Chair of Trustees, welcomed the new trustees and said:
“We are pleased to announce these appointments. Rachael, Anni and Catherine bring a blend of expertise, knowledge and experience that will benefit our work considerably and we look forward to working with them”
