Case study

4Wings Northwest CIC

4 Wings Northwest offers personal growth coaching, support networks and training workshops for their beneficiaries, most of whom are asylum-seeking and refugee women who have had to flee their own country. 4 Wings Northwest works to rebuild self-esteem, self-worth and enable self-efficiency for women who have experienced trauma or abuse.

The Trust awarded a grant of £13,496 through The National Lottery Community Fund to meet 4 Wings’ huge increase in demand during lockdown. The funding allowed 4 Wings Northwest to pay for additional staff hours and provide tablets and internet access for BAME women who often fall through the gaps of mainstream services.

“This funded has really taken the burden of pressure during a very challenging time. The additional roles have so far enabled us to support more women through online sessions, direct advocacy, additional hours of outreach work via phone calls and coordinating of food parcel deliveries.” (Ciiku Sondergaard,4 Wings Service Director)
