Board Recruitment: Help Shape the Future of Smallwood Trust
June 20, 2025We’re pleased to announce that Board recruitment for the Smallwood Trust is now open. This marks a significant moment in our evolution as we plan for leadership succession and continue our mission to enable women to be financially resilient.
Since 2016, Smallwood has awarded over £26 million through our programmes, supporting more than 150,000 women across the UK. Through direct grants and place-based partnerships, we’ve focused on challenging the root causes of gendered poverty while meeting immediate needs. Our work strengthens grassroots organisations, supports community-led decision-making, and helps women overcome financial hardship and thrive.
Following a recent strategic review, we are now seeking to appoint a new Chair, Co-Chair or Vice Chair and also a new Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. These appointments are central to the next chapter of our strategy—ensuring our funding remains relevant, effective and impactful for the women and communities we serve. Further Director appointments are also planned for later in the year
