The Smallwood Trust are pleased to launch our second Board Shadowing Programme which provides women with lived experience an insight into the roles of trustees and boards as well as the opportunity to contribute their own invaluable perspectives in helping us to end gendered poverty.

The 2022/23 programme follows the success of our first Board Shadowing Programme and is a key part of our commitment to finding new ways to help bring diversity, equity and inclusion into all of the Trust’s work and to make these seemingly ‘not for me’ spaces more accessible.

The programme will run from October 2022 to September 2023 and we are looking to select 3-4 individuals with lived experience of gendered poverty who have an interest in the work of the Smallwood Trust, and who would like to use the opportunity to further their own personal and/or professional development.

The first Shadowing programme ran from April 2021 to April 2022 in which three shadowees were recruited. You can read their reflections on the programme here: www.smallwoodtrust.org.uk/news/reflecting-our-inaugural-board-shadowee-experience
