Women’s Sector Resilience Fund Phase 2 launched
We are delighted to launch the Women’s Sector Resilience Fund Phase 2 which has been set up to support place-based local networks of organisations working with and for women to make changes to systems that cause gendered poverty.
£1.5m will be available in this round, building on the previous funding awarded to the Coventry Women’s Partnership.
This is part of our matched funding commitment from Phase 1 of the Women’s Sector Resilience fund where we successfully delivered £2.1m of emergency COVID Funding via our DCMS Community Match Challenge Partnership.
Our new fund is a place-based pilot that is designed to create an opportunity for localised networks of organisations to stimulate ideas and approaches that will tackle the root causes of, and help reduce, gendered poverty.
The fund is open to networks in and around the following areas:
Birmingham
Bristol
Kingston upon Hull
Liverpool / Merseyside
Manchester
Middlesbrough / Teesside
Newcastle
West Yorkshire (Bradford and Leeds)
This list has been defined through the consideration of Smallwood’s existing partnerships, target groups of beneficiaries and the Indices of Multiple Deprivation. We particularly welcome proposals from networks that address the critical needs of women who have been most affected by the pandemic including Black, Asian and other minoritised women, young women, lone parents and disabled women.
We aim to fund approximately three geographical place-based networks with each network able to apply for up to £500k to be spent over three years.
Emma Crump, Head of Evaluation at the Smallwood Trust said, “We are excited to launch the Women’s Sector Resilience Fund Phase 2 as we’ve learned from our Phase 1 funding and the success of the Coventry Women’s Partnership that organisations working together can have a significant impact on local systems to support women to improve their financial resilience.”
